Who’s behind FFH? David Haddad, Andre Blackman and Aman Bhandari
What’s the event format like? We usually start with some time for folks to connect/rub shoulders then dive right into one of the films. After each film we try to have a brief on-stage discussion with a speaker who represents the film’s theme (e.g. food sustainability, tech, etc.), then we wrap up with some food for thought comments and thank the audience for coming out.
Where did you come up with this idea? It’s not always easy to grasp the concepts of using social media, design, technology, economics, business and urban planning to change the way in which health care is produced. When each of us have to answer that age-old question, “what do you do”, most of our friends and family scratch their heads. We were tired of how healthcare was always being represented by a sad story (while very real) about the trials and tribulations within the health care system. We thought, what is the easiest way for people to understand that health & health care is about way more than just doctors and hospitals – to stress the need to think differently. Compelling film and visual storytelling helps to make that happen – stripping away all barriers to understanding and making it plain for people to be inspired.
How long does the event last? Typically the events are in the evening & last for about 2-3 hours. Many of our audiences grab a bite to eat prior to the event.
What kind of people come to FFH events? Physicians, healthcare professionals from varying institutions and systems, public health students, business leaders, social change innovators, technologists & designers.
Can I suggest a speaker? Absolutely, email firstname.lastname@example.org we’ll keep them in mind for our next event.
Can I suggest a film? For sure! Email us at email@example.com with film suggestion and we’ll add it to our database.
Do you always show FFH in the same location? Nope. In fact, we’d love it if you can point us to a venue that’s inexpensive, cool, and can really help to connect the dots for people want to make an impact.
Is there a preferred dress code for each event? Dress up and down as you wish. This is not a red carpet/black tie affair, but keep in mind you may make some great professional connections at FFH too.
Can I get a ticket at the door? As a last resort, yes. However we strongly encourage you to pre-purchase your ticket so we can use the funds to make the night as awesome as possible for you and the other guests.
Can I host an FFH event on my own in my own location? Absolutely. We want to expand the community! Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
